I grew up in Carpinteria, a beach town on the California coast near Santa Barbara. It's a very nice place to live. I enjoy music, though I don't play much myself anymore. I had piano lessons as a kid, played in the high school band, and taught piano while in college. I received my degree in English from California State University, Chico, with a minor in philosophy and a paralegal certificate. I studied law for three years after that. I have a brother who lives in northern California with his wife and my nephew. The little guy is in third grade now, which is hard to believe. I love animals and since 1999 I've been on the board of directors of IMOM.org, a fantastic charitable organization dedicated to helping sick and injured pets, and to raising awareness of their issues. Here on my Web site, I share tributes to our family dogs. I started writing poetry in 1980, and there's plenty on the creative writing pages about that. My interests include philosophy, psychology, and environment and wildlife concerns. September 2009 |
