Let us dare to read, think, speak and write.

About me

Text Box: I grew up here in Carpinteria, a small city — some would say a little beach town — on the California coast near Santa Barbara.
As a kid, I loved music. I played in the school band, sang in the church choir, and took piano lessons. I was a Boy Scout and did some hiking and camping, and went fishing with my Dad.
While at Santa Barbara City College, I taught piano and worked for campus security.
I received my BA in English from California State University, Chico, with a minor in philosophy and a Paralegal Certificate. I studied law for three years after college.
I have a brother, Joe, who lives in northern California with his family. My nephew T just turned 7 (April 2008) and will soon finish the first grade. He’s already smarter than a 5th grader. I’m a proud uncle.
I have always loved animals, and since 1999 I’ve served on the board of directors of IMOM.org, a fantastic organization dedicated to helping sick and injured pets.
Unlike most people, I have no favorite food.
I have been a poet for about twenty years.
In addition to writing, my interests include philosophy, psychology, and environmental and wildlife concerns. I enjoy riding my bike around our small town. In fact, I’m going to turn off the computer and go do that right now.
